How to Prepare a Simple Quinoa Salad

This simple quinoa salad recipe shows just how easy you can include quinoa in your diet. It takes minutes to prepare and can be eaten warm or cold.

Preparation

Before you make it you need to take 1 cup of quinoa and boil it in 2 cups of water for 10-15 minutes. When all the water has been absorbed you can include it into this salad recipe.
I prefer to cook it for the shorter time so that it is crunchy but if you like it soft and fluffy then cook it for 15 Minutes.

Ingredients


The pre-cooked quinoa - see above
1 stalk celery
1 carrot
3 spring onions
1 sweet red pepper (or any color you want)
Lettuce leaves
Italian balsamic syrup (or your prefereed dressing)

Method

Chop the celery, onion and pepper.

Slice or grate the carrots finely

Throw all the ingredients together with the quinoa.

Place on a bed of lettuce leaves and drizzle with Italian balsamic syrup.

Itcan be served warm, if you have cooled the quinoa.

Variations

This recipe can accompany cold meats, boiled eggs or fish. You are free to all salads are like, but I always try and ensure a good selection of colurs and texture to the salad more appetizing.

Combining a second group of salad vegetables as an alternative would, cucumbers, tomatoes, arugula and fresh grapes.

A good combination would fuit salad red berries,Blackberries, raspberries and melons. Of course, you should replace the balsamic syrup with something like a juice dressing. It can only be served with fresh cream or ice cream.
